Please read before booking. Your safety is the foundation of every session.

Important Health Notice Sauna and cold-plunge use carries serious health risks including heat stroke, dehydration, cardiac events, and drowning. You must be 18 years of age or older to use the Facilities. No one under 18 is permitted under any circumstances. Do not use if you are pregnant, intoxicated, or have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, epilepsy, or other medical conditions without first consulting a physician. By booking, you agree to sign our liability waiver on arrival.

Before You Book

The cedar barrel sauna reaches 180-195°F. The cold plunge sits in the low 40s. Used together, they place real stress on your cardiovascular and thermoregulatory systems. Most healthy adults find this stress exhilarating and recover quickly, but it is not appropriate for everyone, and complications can be serious or fatal.

Do not use the sauna or plunge if you

Are pregnant or trying to become pregnant.
Have heart disease, prior heart attack or stroke, arrhythmia, or uncontrolled blood pressure.
Have epilepsy, a seizure disorder, or any condition that may cause loss of consciousness.
Have diabetes, kidney disease, or another condition affected by elevated body temperature.
Are under the influence of alcohol, recreational drugs, or sedating medications.
Are under 18 years of age. The Facilities are strictly for adults 18 and older; no one under 18 is permitted under any circumstances.

If you have any health concern, talk to your doctor before booking. We are not medical professionals and cannot advise you on whether sauna use is safe for you.

Warning signs, exit immediately

Dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint.
Nausea, headache, or confusion.
Shortness of breath, chest tightness, or palpitations.
Excessive thirst or stopping sweating.
Tingling, numbness, or loss of coordination.

Cool down slowly, hydrate with water, and seek medical attention if symptoms persist. Call 911 in any emergency.

Cold plunge specifics

Cold-water immersion can trigger an involuntary cold-shock response, gasping, hyperventilation, and rapid changes in heart rhythm, within the first thirty seconds. Enter slowly, never submerge your head, never use the plunge alone, and exit immediately if you feel unwell.

House Rules

No alcohol or recreational drugs before or during your session.
Buddy system required. Never use the sauna or cold plunge alone.
Limit each sauna round to 15-20 minutes. Step out, hydrate, cool down, and listen to your body before going back in.
Hydrate before, during, and after, water is provided.
Adults only (18+). No one under 18 years of age is permitted to use the sauna, cold plunge, or surrounding facilities under any circumstances.
Do not modify the heater controls beyond the posted maximum, and do not pour anything other than plain water on the stones.
Enter the cold plunge slowly. Do not submerge your head.
Watch your footing. Surfaces are wet, hot, and at times icy.
Leave the space as clean and undamaged as you found it.
Respect the property and the woods. Keep voices low, no glass, no smoking.

An exterior security camera records arrivals and departures for safety. There are no cameras inside the sauna or changing area.

Liability Waiver

Every guest must sign our Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement before their first session. You can download and review it now, or sign on a tablet when you arrive.

The waiver acknowledges the inherent risks of sauna and cold-plunge use, releases the operator from liability for ordinary negligence to the fullest extent allowed by law, requires you to follow posted rules, and asks you to confirm you are at least 18 years of age and not pregnant, intoxicated, or living with a contraindicated medical condition. It also collects emergency contact information. Use of the Facilities is strictly limited to adults 18 and older.

Terms of Service

By booking a session at Sauna by the Hour you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Bookings and payment

Sessions are reserved through our booking partner Cal.com and paid through Stripe. Your reservation is confirmed when payment is received. We do not store your payment card; Stripe handles all card processing.

Cancellations and refunds

You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your session for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are non-refundable. If we must cancel due to weather, equipment issues, or any other reason, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

Conduct

You agree to follow the house rules, all posted instructions, and any verbal guidance from the operator. We reserve the right to refuse service or end a session without refund for unsafe behavior, intoxication, damage to property, or refusal to follow safety rules.

Damage and loss

You are responsible for damage to the sauna, plunge, or property caused by you or your party beyond ordinary wear. We are not responsible for personal items lost, stolen, or damaged during your visit.

Eligibility

All participants must be 18 years of age or older. No one under 18 is permitted to use the Facilities under any circumstances. By booking, you confirm that everyone in your party is at least 18 years old and meets the medical eligibility requirements described in the Safety section.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator's total liability for any claim related to your use of the facilities is limited to the amount you paid for the session at issue. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect on the date of your booking governs that booking.

Privacy Policy

We collect the minimum information needed to confirm your booking and keep you safe.

What we collect

Booking details (name, email, phone, party size, date and time) collected through Cal.com when you reserve a session.
Payment information processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Emergency contact and medical acknowledgments collected when you sign the waiver.
Arrival and departure footage from an exterior security camera, retained for a short period for safety purposes only.

How we use it

To confirm and manage your booking, send you arrival instructions and reminders, respond to your questions, and document incidents if any occur. We do not sell your information and we do not send marketing emails unless you opt in.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers we use to run the business, primarily Cal.com (booking) and Stripe (payments), and only as needed. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect health and safety.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete the information we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@saunabythehour.com. We will keep records we are legally required to retain (for example, signed waivers and tax records).

Cookies

This website uses essential cookies only. We do not run advertising trackers.
